Junior Bryant has passed away:
Omaha Township supervisor and local resident Clyde Bryant, jr. passed away Saturday in an Evansville hospital. He was 74 years old. Most of family still lives in the Omaha area.
He and his wife, Pat of 55 years, lived at the intersection of routes 1 & 141.
Junior was always ready to help anyone in a time of need. He served for many years as Deacon at the Omaha Baptist Church. He will certainly be missed at church.
Today Jr. was missed because we had communion and it was Jr. who always prepared and served the bread. Reverend Felty had to fill in for Jr. Bryant today.
I have known Junior ever since I have moved to Omaha. He has always been a good fair man. He would always help others. He was the one in our Sunday School class, whom could always bring the stories of people in the bible to everyday life.
A full obituary is in other parts of the paper.

John took Grandson Keegan home the other night and got to hear 7 miles of what John called “head banger” music. John said it reminded him of his younger days when you would travel down the road listening to KXOK or WLS and all the static on AM.
He said that he did have some advantage, though. He drove a flat head V8 ford and they were short stroked with a lot of spark and through the noise you could tell if you were firing on all 8 cylinders.

Senator Mark Kirk is ill.
This time last year Senator Kirk was on the telly holding a town wide meeting with many of his southern Illinois constituents, including your reporters household.
Unfortunately, this year he has had a stroke and is recovering in a Chicago hospital. Let’s all keep him and his family in our prayers.
