Teacher Sentenced

Former Fairfield Community High School PE teacher Haven A. Kirkpatrick has been sentenced to 3 years in prison for having an unlawful sexual relationship with a student in 2010. In addition, Kirkpatrick must serve an additional four years of probation once she is released from prison.  Judge David Frankland also fined Kirkpatrick $3,000 and ordered her to pay $516 in restitution to the victim's family for the cost of counseling.  Additionally, Judge Frankland ordered that the remainder of the $10,000 bond that Kirkpatrick posted in the case be held by the court for future counseling services and medical expenses of the victim. Special Prosecutor Michael Valentine said that justice had been served and the sentence was appropriate
