Competes in Spelling Bee

Congratulations Michaela!

Michaela Springer, Gallatin County Spelling Bee Champ, recently competed in the Tri-State Spelling Bee, sponsored by Evansville Courier and Press. One hundred seventy seven students and Michaela took a written exam in the morning to determine whether they could stay for the afternoon oral competition.

Twenty one students along with Michaela earned 100% on the written exam qualifying them to compete in the second round. During the second round Michaela placed eleventh out of the twenty two students competing.

Michaela is the daughter of Michael and Rebecca Springer of New Haven, Illinois.
